gibson_exclusive_wi_2.jpgAs it says in the Talmud: nichnas yayin, yotzie sod (Lit. in goes wine and out come secrets.)

Mel Gibson got a little too much of the Passion Punch, getting busted driving like Mad Max in Malibu this past week. According to reports in The Zone, Gibson launched into an anti-Semitic Jew bashing drunken tirade at the arresting officers. But this was not released to the public. However, TMZ did some snooping and put online a PDF of the arrest report. While not too clear, one can read some of Gibson’s finer quotes:

“F*****g Jews… The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” Gibson then asked the deputy, “Are you a Jew?”

Meanwhile, Gibson released an apology today:

I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said. Also, I take this opportunity to apologize to the deputies involved for my belligerent behavior.

While some AA classes may help wean him off the booze, it is going to take some serious heart 2 heart chats with Rabbi Yo to get him off the anti-Semite bandwagon.

  • The story is also here at Deadline Hollywood Daily:

And no, no one can convice me that Gibson & father have not been virulent anti-Semites since well before they reached these shores. This is what history tells us. He can try to cover it all up, but it’ll still tell on his heart. Cheers, ‘VJ’

  • Saddam has brown eyes. By the way, who is the Jewish girl in the right upper corner of this site?

  • Matt is a yid of course. Although he claimed to not be a very good yid to Terry Gross, I would say he is certainly a needed park of the Z.O.M. (Zionist Occupied Media)

  • well I must say, when drunk, my jewish friends start making basically identical comments.

  • And in related news, next time I get a DUI, I plan to blame Mel Gibson for the sad state of my F***kin’ life…now, if only I had a car, I could get moving on that goal…

  • Seems like Michael Medved et al kinda got it all wrong when the Passion came out, but don’t hold your breath for “I was wrong”

  • Dude, like it’s been like a total pogrom. Sheesh.

Personally, I think the Anti- Defamation League owes Catholics- and the rest of Christendom – an apology for throwing an anti- goy hissy fit and insulting us. I mean, I was a naif. Shocked the hell out of me, Foxman pissing all over our nice post war ecumenical concord, essentially saying Catholicism and the Gospel are anti- Semitic.
It’s like he wants it to be true. He really seems to want to believe that Christians are out to get him. That it’s all about hate. Or a catalyst for his fundraising?

Anyway it that smacks of bigotry. I thought we’d put all that crap behind us.

The Passion was a bit gothic, sure, but it was nothing but the stations of the Cross graphically rendered. Essential part of Catholic tradition. And not in itself anti- Semitic in the least.

Mel & his pop evidently have their issues, sure. Big surprise, right? Seeing how we memorize the protocols backwards in CCD, all the while chanting our papist mantra: “Jesus weren’t no Jew.”

Here’s a newsflash: most Christians in the States are pro- Semitic Zionists, head over heels in love with Israel and Judaism. The uncritically loving Israel part is a huge problem in my book (not good for the US or Israel, imho) but I join with the vast majority of my fellow Christians in asserting an undying fondness for the Jews. I mean, I’ve seen Fiddler on the Roof ten billion times, and Jewish girls are like, just sooo freaking hot, man. You really haven’t lived until seeing the girls of the IDF – reason enough in itself to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Easily the hottest army on the planet. The girl in the Song of Solomon with M16. I mean, damn. You guys are definitely the Chosen People. Who could deny it? Please don’t shoot me…

And yeah, who is the girl on the masthead? That’s one fine lookin’ Jew.

Anyway, unlike our fundie prot friends who are itching to convert y’all, and maybe even see Israel nuked because it’s in the Book of Daniel.. I’m just here to learn, and so better understand my faith, which (duh!) is irreducibly related to yours.

  • “Anti-Semitism is nothing but the antagonistic attitude produced in the non-Jew by the Jewish group. The Jewish group has thrived on oppression and on the antagonism it has forever met in the world.” — Albert Einstein, in Collier’s Magazine, November 26, 1938

Maybe he became an Anti-Semite after Abe Foxman and the ADL Jews tried to torture him to death over The Passion?

  • Notice the resounding silence from Jews in Hollywood. As long as Mel’s got box office clout, you won’t hear a single power Yid condemning him.

  • Read the absolutely disgusting comments people have posted in response to this issue on tmz.com and usweekly.com…..I know these aren’t the most well respected news sources, but it does give an indication of what the status quo thinks of Jews. I’m sitting at my desk now and I am pretty scared.

  • Free publicity. I don’t believe he was drunk. I think he was 100% sober. Boy did he get ink! Worth millions.

  • Charles,
I agree. Most Christians love Jews. At least the ones I know.
If I can throw in my two cents, I’m not religious but I like the Jews too. About Mel, I feel sorry for him. VJ is likely right on the money: with the alcohol came the truth. I would have more respect for him if he’d just admit that that’s how he feels.

  • Prosecute Mel for ‘hate-crimes’, piss him off even more.
Maybe then he’ll make a movie about how Jewish financiers started WW1 and WW2.

  • On a semi-related note…I was just watching SouthPark and they advertised next Wednesday as “All Mel Breaks Loose” night and will be showing “The Passion of the Jew.”

As Esther pointed out above, it was hilarious!

  • The quote above from Einstein is bogus. Anti-Semites use it all the time.

“Anti-Semitism is nothing but the antagonistic attitude produced in the non-Jew by the Jewish group. The Jewish group has thrived on oppression and on the antagonism it has forever met in the world… the root cause is their use of enemies they create in order to keep solidarity…”

    — Albert Einstein, quoted in Collier’s Magazine, November 26, 1938
