Israel’s flag will soon wave over Wilshire Blvd. While that might not sound like a big deal, it actually is. The consulate in LA has been incognito for 30 years.

The location of the consulate was until now a semi-guarded secret. They certainly never advertised. Maybe as a response to recent demonstrations outside the consulate by students from UC Irvine’s Muslim Student Union, or maybe to increase their visibility in a city with nearly 100,000 Israelis, or maybe just because times have changed.

The big event, one the Sunday before Rosh Hashanah, features Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa, Macy Gray, Noa Tishby, Hedva Amrani, The Los Angeles Jewish Symphony and many others!
