Thanks for helping undermine the BDS movement!

Undermining the BDS Movement is Awesome!

Undermining the BDS Movement is Awesome!

As you all know, I’ve caught a bit of flack for running an ad for Norman Finkelstein’s new book. Finkelstein is one of the most noxious anti-Israel voices out there, beloved of supporters of terror and a nasty piece of work in general. Today, running that ad has paid off!

Today I took the $93.75 that Finkelstein’s publishers paid Jewlicious for the ad and used it to buy a case of Tishbi Estates wine, which I am distributing to needy families in Jerusalem. Now according to the Web site of the Global Divestment Movement, a movement supported by Finkelstein and dedicated to promoting and enforcing boycotts, divestment and sanctions against Israel, Tishbi Estate Winery is on the list of products that stupid activists have to avoid buying whilst shopping lest they inadvertently support those awful Zionists and the atrocities they perpetrate on a daily basis. As I walked home, trying in vain to avoid the pools of Palestinian blood that plague the streets of Apartheid Israel, I couldn’t help but smile knowing that Finkelstein was complicit in genocide, and complicit in the fine, fine Passover wine that will grace the tables of needy Zionist families.

Not only has Finkelstein helped Save Passover, he has also helped save Zionism! If you’d like to help do the same thing, let me know! I plan on matching Finkelstein’s donation and buying a case of Barkan Cellars wine to distribute along with the Matza etc. that we’re buying. So, step one, make a donation of any size:

Then just email me and let me know that you want the money to be used specifically to purchase Kosher for Passover products on the BDS list! Let’s do it! And make sure to thank Norman Finkelstein during your seder!

  • Meanwhile, odds are more than one person saw your ad, was curious, and bought Finkelstein’s book. So while you’re thanking Finkelstein for $90 toward Golan Heights wineries, he’s thanking you for helping spread his views.

I think you are missing the point of commercial transactions – they are a two-way street.

    • Bartholemew is right. Unfortunately.

Of course, the publisher had the ad for a week and even if they’re selling the book directly, would probably have to sell about 20 copies just to break even. Three copies a day, basically. Doable.

  • They can sell 10 copies a day for all I care. The point is that Norman Finkelstein violated the terms of the BDS movement by giving money to a Zionist entity, said money now being used to purchase Wine and other products on the BDS boycott list. If any Jewlicious readers bought a book based on that ad, please let me know. I’m waiting. 🙂

And Bart-o? We love spreading Norman Finkelstein’s views. The more we publish about Finkelstein, the more people know what a nasty scoundrel he is.

    • I have listened to some of Finkelstein’s lectures out there, and he does NOT support BDS. His focus is on international law, on distributing the factual record and on the Goldstone Report. He says the timing is not right for BDS and it is just a tactic that at this point seems ineffective and even distracts from the important issues. Hope you enjoyed the book as much as I did!

        • All Jew haters think it’s fiction. Palestine never had a natural homeland in Israel. Study your world history. They are the invaders.

    • Actually if you read the comments on his Youtube videos more and more people are agreeing with him – your argument is flawed as he moved me to agree with him even more.

      • Anuali, it’s not your fault you’re not that smart. While you’re agreeing with Finkelstein, however, the basic premise of his book and his US college tour have been proven wrong.

  • i became finkelstein curious reading attacks on him. I wondered why people disliked him so much. I then did what rational people do and read his books. Then I read a person named Horowits. Now I understand why Finkelstein is considered a threat. See, read, and view both sides of the coin and then decide. I was shocked. i didnt realize how grave the situation was. I used to support isreali views, but now the reality of the situation is clear. End the occupation, create at two state solution on the green line. Take your consolidated gains and call it victory. In a position of strength isreal should seek the deal instead of pretending. otherwise our children will remember isreal negatively in histoy.

  • Andres, you probably weren’t reading Finkelstein too carefully because even he spells it “Israel.”

However, with all due respect, there is no evidence whatsoever that Israel moving to the Green Line, or 1949 armistice borders, will lead to peace. There is also no reason for Israel to give up its historic heart – the Old City of Jerusalem. Since you are so well read on this conflict, you know that when the Old City inside east Jerusalem was in Arab hands, they allowed no Jews to enter or to worship there, even though this area contains the Temple Mount.

Perhaps you can come up with a solution for that while you’re dispensing solutions for peace? Thanks.

  • sorry for the spelling, i even spelled the united states in lower case. so what is the line in the sand. I mean what would be a good line for you. It cannot go on like this forever. isrealis need land and peace just like the other side, no? I have come to the conclusion that the palestinans (lower case too) would definitely take a deal. Would you want to live under those conditions in the occupied territories? I understand there are arab exemist like jewish extremist, and if they didnt alow jew to enter the temple than that is wrong. but two wrongs dont make a right. But last I read jeruselum was not recognised as isreali or arab by the international community, not even the usa. I dont think I’m well read, Im trying to understand the conflict better. I was too one sided before. I will do better in my spelling for you.

  • sorry i forgot to answer the question. the solution i would put for the religiuos areas are to allow both sides access forever. sound like a compromise?

    • Sorry Donna Norman, Hamas itself provided the evidence that discredits what was being plugged in the book and across many US campuses.

  • Yea, anybody who thinks Finkelstein has a point is a serious d bag.
