Although everyday at Jewlicious.com is a global day of Jewish learning, there will also be a significant one on Sunday, November 7, to honor Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz’s completion of his Hebrew translation of the Talmud. It only took him 45 years. (I hear he would have done it sooner, but he was waiting for the super to make a repair to his bathroom).

November 7 coincides with the GA 2011 in New Orleans and the Boston Jewish Film Festival. From Israel to NYC to Argentina to LA to Scranton to even to Minority Whip Rep. Eric Cantor’s neighborhood (I hear he is proposing to fund Talmud study in a separate allocation from the regular U.S. Congressional foreign aid bill), men and women, young and old, will gather to celebrate and study.
