And so it begins – The 9th annual Jewlicious Festival is off and running! The day was spent taking care of endless last minute preparations – props go out to Rabbi Yonah and Rachel and all our staff and volunteers who made things happen while I slept in, basically. OK, I did go back to Rabbi Yonah’s house to pick up some cream cheese and whipped cream, but yeah, our staff kicks ass.

So we’ve been registering everyone, handing out room keys, people are meeting new people and renewing old acquaintances – the stuff typical of events of this nature. Except Jewlicious is different. It’s always been different. Other events are all glitzy and glam, Jewlicious however is infused with heart, it’s infused with love – it’s funded by passion. No one who “works” here does it for the pay check. Tonight we will have services, a raucous dinner, awesome speakers and the kind of spirit that money cannot buy.

I’m going to go now and enjoy the Sabbath. We’ll report again tomorrow night and let you know how things went. I am so sincerely sorry you’re not here with us. And if you are? Get ready for some mind and spirit altering awesomeness!
