Today is election day in the United States and people across the country will participate in what has been one of the most contentious elections in recent memory. I think we’ve studiously tried to avoid getting into contentious political discussions here but not so most people in Israel who have an opinion on everything and aren’t afraid to share it. We went to the Mahane Yehuda market yesterday and asked a random sampling of Israelis who they would suggest Americans vote for – they didn’t disappoint with many engaging us in long conversations about the political situation in the United States.

As we speak, Americans are streaming to their polling stations and very soon history will be made. While my personal preference is for Hillary Clinton, I’m not American so who cares. But it does behoove me to remind you that voting is a civic duty, so by all means, get out there and vote! May the best woman win.

  • I pray for the death of cancerous Zionism. People are waking up to your plot. Give the Palestinians their land back, and get rid of the illegal state of Israel.
