“Nothing happens, nobody comes, nobody goes, it’s awful!”

After all the brouhaha, youth in the seaside settlement of Shirat Hayam are stuck waiting for Gadot evacuation.

“Aw, there’s nothing happening here,” said one disappointed boy at Shirat Hayam, as he abandoned the barricaded gate to the Gush Katif settlement.

Even journalists are getting bored:

“What the hell are we doing here?” complained a foreign journalist, who had waited in vain like a suitor stood up by a date for soldiers to force open the gate and deliver evacuation orders to the residents.

Another reporter from the Jpost compares them to a different work of literature — Lord of the Flies, led by a 20 something curly haired boy called Melech. Almost like summer camp on the beach, (if your summer camp had no counsels, lots of guns, and swarms of press cameras waiting for something international incident to happen), these kids are quoted wishing for non violence and “chocolate cake, thick and with sprinkles.”

Amen to that!

  • We’ll see how boring it gets once the 48 hours are up and the soldiers start forcibly removing people who refuse to leave.

  • I think we should all be praying that things continue to be peacefully boring

  • I’m with wine guy. Raise a glass to boring.

Someone bake them a cake already, and ship over a game of scrabble.

    (L-“counselors”?)

  • they should head over to neve dekalim–there’s some serious shit going down, according to haaretz, jpost, and arutz sheva (who, of course, all cover it from vastly different angles).
the most incredible thing about all of this are the photos coming out showing soldiers and settlers hugging and crying together.

  • I will ask that everyone who reads this includes the following in their prayers, please, for the love of our people:

“HaShem Shalom: I pray with the purity of my soul for an insubordinate leader of Israeli evacuation troops to come to his senses and instead of removing our people from their land, he and his military convoy will stay to defend them. While political fallout and chaos would surely ensue, it would mean the failure of the disengagement and the beginings of a people’s movement to remain in their Land. They are not settlers, they are the outpost of our civilization. Each one is a gleaming pillar of the mitzvot, struggling to strengthen the bond between humankind and Sinai. May they stand strong, and may your Zohar reflect from their bodies and souls and radiate outward. Am Yisrael Echad. Ahmein.”

so basically… despite spelling/grammar mistakes… let’s pray that one of the leaders out there goes in, sees a crying child, has a crisis of conscience… and says “alright, men, we’re staying!”

he’ll de discharged, but what he’ll be doing is right, right? c’mon, unify our prayers! we need someone out there to do something. were i a military leader, i’d’ve volunteered for the evacuation and done what i’ve described to u. go there, set up camp, and defend our people from the corruption of our state. may HaShem G-d punish those who have fell to their economic greed (the only reason they’re evavuating is because it’s expesnive… it wouldn’t be if it was a full-scale invasion!!!) and deliver the righteous from the bondage Sharon is placing on them.

Sharon is forcing Shekinah into exile! pray for a miracle, perhaps the one i’ve desribed to you here… please.

  • Yeah, Daavid, I’m going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there.

  • that’s cool, but it would be nice if you specified as to why

  • David that should happen and I will add that there should be a revolution with the government overthrown since it is undemocratic as they ban the idea of removing arabs from our land which is why this is happening:

“33,53 And ye shall drive out the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein; for unto you have I given the land to possess it. …33,55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those that ye let remain of them be as thorns in your eyes, and as pricks in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land wherein ye dwell. 33,56 And it shall come to pass, that as I thought to do unto them, so will I do unto you.”

–ie Don’t think that you can live there together with the current inhabitants and all will be well. But rather if you do not get rid of them they will begin harassing you. The harassment will continue and magnify until
    G-d forbid …

  • Precisely why Kahane’s party was not allowed to participate in Israel’s democracy. Why let anti-democratic forces gain any leverage or power?

  • TM I know I know the quote I quoted is not ‘really’ said by G-d and should not be taken seriously it was Moses himself who was ‘only’ inspired…

I understand you and your ‘Judaism’ or should I say non-Judaism.

Unfortunately it is real and we are suffering and will suffer more because we don’t take it seriously.

  • totally don’t agree with driving them out. settle, extend the jewish reach. fight the fight. eventually, they will be gone. but i’m not some fucked up zionist who wants them shipped off on busses/trains to the east. what happened when *we* were shipped off to the east? will you make nazis of us? i will not allow u! i support jews in so-called “palestinian territory,” but i don’t support forcing anymore arabs from their homes. we’re all monotheistic, i say we go in, annex it all, make them citizens, and kill off their leaders like we have been doing. slowly but surely, with the elements of radicalism and poverty gone, so will be the terror. the inhabitants g-d was refering to were not arab, joe, they were of a different time in history. g-d did not write in Torah “and know that when Israel is reborn the tribes of the false prophet [mohammad] must be driven out!”

think about it, is Torah talking about the Ishmaelites living in present-day israel? fuck no.

i say: don’t drive them out… but don’t drive US out either! fucking Sharon… BUTCHER OF BNEI YISRAEL!

  • Why let anti-democratic forces gain any leverage or power?

It’s been a while since my ‘Intro to PoliSci’ course, but I think it’s anti-democratic to ban an anti-democratic party from parliament. Is the Israeli communist party pro-democracy?
