Neturei Karta Sucks Ass

I know the title of this post kind of overstates the obvious, like saying the grass is green and the sky is blue. Neturei Karta is a group of Chareidi Orthodox Jews who are actively opposed to Zionism and the state of Israel. They are often seen at Israel Day rallies carrying Palestinian flags and placards with anti-Israel messages. They have made it a point to openly and publicly consort with every enemy of the Jewish state – exemplified most recently by their attendance at the Iranian Holocaust Denial Conference where they rubbed shoulders with the world’s most notorious anti-Semites as well as that whole kissy face thing with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Neturei Karta is a fringe element amongst Hassidic Jews and have been soundly criticized and condemned by everyone from the current Satmar Rebbe Hagoen R’ Zalman Leib Teitlebaum Shlita, to well… us. But now an otherwise unknown group has taken it one step further with the launch of operation Screwball.

Last Sunday they turned the tables and took their opposition to the dilapidated headquarters of Neturei Karta in Monsey, New York. About 250-300 protesters confronted members of the tiny Hassidic sect:

“Nazi traitors! Go back to Iran! You are killing Jews!” the protesters yelled at members of Neturei Karta… Some [of the protesters] waved Israeli flags as they sang the Israeli national anthem.

Part of Operation Screwball also involves a Web site where the photographs of the Neturei Karta members who attended the conference were published along with their addresses and phone numbers. The site states that “We will also bring to the attention of Neturei Karta that the days during which their antics went undisturbed have come to an abrupt end…”

Lets hope prank phone calls and unwanted pizza deliveries will have the desired effect – not that I am suggesting anyone do anything illegal with the information published on the Operation Screwball site. Because that would be wrong. And illegal.

Just sayin’ is all…

** NOTE **
I wasn’t kidding. DO NOT crank call those asshats at Neturei Karta. If you wish to express your displeasure with them, get a permit and hold a rally in front of their homes or whatever. Do not otherwise stalk or harass them. Do not commit any illegal acts with the information provided by the Screwball Web site. That would be decidedly NOT Jewlicious. OK? Are we clear?

  • Naturei Karta is not a Hasidic sect. While there may be some members of NK that are coincidentally Satmarim, the movement is based in Litvish ideology.

  • I agree. They are not even Jewish. They hate Jews and will not speak to Jews. The halacha about whatone can do to people that have traded sides is very interesting and provacative. While violence is against the law and cannot be tolerated, vigils, protests, and most importantly embarrassing the hell out of these guys is perfectly legit

  • But we should be careful how we do this. Are we protesting against them, or are we protesting to find favour in the eyes of the goyim a la ‘I’m not like them’ and/or ‘I am better’? Was the protest an internal Jewish issue, or was the goyish media also called to cover it?

  • I find it interesting and revealing that those who oppose NK use all manner of vitriolic language and obscenities toward them, and even engage in illegal actions against them…yet the NK members never respond with similar filth.

Who are acting like genuine Torah observant Jews in all this, and who are acting like zionists?

  • weird, because i’ve watched those fools berating 8 year old children at the annual Salute to Israel Parade in NYC for years now. I mean literally heckling grade school kids calling them names.
