Israel Trip With UsJewlicious wants to trip with you – join our facebook group, win stuff, have an awesome trip

I know, I know, it seems like as soon as one birthright israel season is over, we’re already preparing for the next season – rubbing it in the faces of those who don’t qualify, can’t go or made the unfortunate decision to go with someone else. We don’t really want to rub it in anyone’s faces though – we’re just sincerely excited by each and every opportunity to share the country we love with others. Especially in the summer when we don’t have to get soaked running around Jerusalem on a cold and wet Friday night without umbrellas getting our trippers to their shabbat home hospitality hosts… oy!

Dead SeaThis summer, Jewlicious will be running a minimum of 3 trips – one each in May, June and July with Oranim. Why so many? No doubt in large part due to the buzz generated by our YouTube video of Tomer and Phoebe dancing their way through Israel. No doubt. Also this year, thanks to a generous grant by the Adelson Foundation, no one will be left behind!! This means that if you apply and qualify, you’re in. No more waiting lists, no more disappointment! Twenty thousand Jews from around the world will be in Israel this summer to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity. We’re talking big fun here. Of course only 120 select individuals will be able to go with Jewlicious, but we can’t do everything!

So here’s the scoop – if you want to go with Jewlicious, your first step should be to join our Israel trip facebook group. That way we can remind you about birthright israel registration dates – February 15th to March 1st on the birthright israel Web site. You’ll also be able to meet and chat with past madrichim and participants and interact with the sexiest group of birthright israel alumni ever! Furthermore, because we can be nudniks, we want to give away some prizes to random group members as compensation – we were thinking Jewlicious swag and maybe an iPod or a gift certificate or something – make a suggestion and we’ll do it.

So remember – join our facebook group. Maybe win some stuff. Visit the birthright israel Web site between Feb. 15 and March 1st and register for a trip with Oranim as your trip provider and then select the Jewlicious trip that is most convenient. Then sit back and prepare for the free Israel trip of a lifetime.

And if you can’t go, well at least tell a friend or family member about this opportunity. You’ll at least get a vicarious thrill…

  • Hi!
    It’s amazing! =) I have one question… Does anybody know if this trip is only for American Jews or we can join the group in Israel?

  • What’s the deal with the facebook thing all of a sudden? When I do a search on facebook for birthright israel, hundreds of groups pop up!

  • Rivka: Sadly the trip is for diaspora youth. There are Israelis involved of course – staffing the trips, joining as mifgashim etc. but that’s pretty much it.

    Lauren: Well, anyone involved in birthright trips knows that facebook is where everyone is at. In the past we tried to create unique web sites for participants to upload their photos and stay in contact with each other but now, why bother? Facebook offers all these facilities for free and our target demographic is already there. Oranim has created specific facebook groups for each of its trips and then one big group that unites all of them – in fact, that is now a requirement for anyone affiliated with Oranim, hence our entry into the facebook world. Other facebook trip provider pioneers include Aish, Mayanot, Hibba, AIPAC etc. There are indeed hundreds…

    We took it one step further and we are offering prizes, but other than that, we’re not really doing anything unique at all. I wish I could say we’re trailblazers here, but we’re not.

  • Like CK says, you gotta go where the eyeballs are. And btw, as of last Sunday, the groups on Facebook having to do with birthright israel trips are as follows:
    * Israel 500+ groups
    * birthright 342 groups
    * taglit 60 groups
    * oranim 52 groups
    * Jewish 500 + groups
    * birthright israel 168 groups

    So yeah, the interest is there…Facebook’s a great tool for staying in touch post-birthright…just ask Oranim 466!

  • Well… I understand if the trip is only for American jews… But I am also part of the diaspora youth… I’m not American but I’m not Israeli and I’m living outside Israel.

  • Rivka – tell us where you do live. While our Jewlicious trip is only for US residents at the current time, birthright Israel has trips originating in lot’s of countries. Austrailia, Brazil, Aregentina, Mexico, Canada etc. Check with birthright israel to see if there’s one for you.

  • Thanks a lot for your answer. I’m living in Portugal… I’m going to try to contact them.

  • I do disagree. eating healthy is eating healthy and should be a life style not a life change which is what a diet is. You are changing what you do. Eating healthy should not be thought of as a change into something else-this is how we are to live!!
