Dear Mayor Bloomberg,

On Sunday your city will be hosting Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Dictator of Iran, one of the most evil men on earth. Just a peek at his portfolio: Ahmadinejad has crushed his people and opponents, kept Americans hostage in 1979, and promises to wipe Israel off the map. His actions and his words speak volumes about his intentions to build and use nukes. He sends guns, ammo, land mines, missiles, money and bombs to Hamas, Hizbollah, and those killing American soldiers in Iraq. He is a murderous madman like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao.

Imagine the suffering that could have been avoided if anyone of them had been apprehended, tried and sentenced before they were allowed to institute their evil plans?

Do the right thing— and the world will thank you. It will raise your profile and your moral standing. It will be a mitzvah.

America wants this madman off the streets.

Sincerely,

Rabbi Yonah

  • Hi, if you ask any Farsi professor or translator or Farsi speaking person they will tell you that Ahmadinajad never said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map. He said he wanted to wipe the evil Zionist regime from the pages of time.

The whole “wipe Israel off the map” is just Zionist propaganda. And quite frankly, the only nation that was litterally wiped off the map is Palestine. I cant find it on my atlas anymore.

  • Apartheid: When was Palestine a nation exactly? Because I can’t find that in any history book either. Good God those Zionists are truly all powerful!

  • ck, the funny thing is that I’ve had Farsi-speaking students that confirmed the very translation “wipe Israel off the map”. Even if Ahmadinejad used different ways of expressing himself on different occasions, they all convey the same idea. Calling a chunk of moss a pizza will neither turn it into a pizza nor will anybody of a higher intelligence level than an average toilet bowl believe it’s a pizza. No tasting needed.

  • Apartheid — Comparing Israel to South Africa is merely showing your ignorance. Read a book. Learn a thing or two. Run along now.

  • ck, I apologize for profusely for digressing yet again, but this one’s too good to pass up . . .

Ramon, you’ve just reminded me of the joke: Your mother’s so fat, she’s got her own ZIP code.

Back to the topic, zulubaby’s absolutely right; comparing the situation in Israel to that in RSA is a smack in the face of all people that have suffered from Apartheid and those that still are affected by its aftermath in the townships of Soweto.

  • Sarah, not just Soweto, but everywhere, and not just black South Africans, all South Africans. We all carry it around with us — forever more.

Apartheid stripped natural born citizens of all their rights. I don’t want to discuss it at length but a system as toxic as that, written into law, is not what Israel is. Should you bump into this argument, dismiss the individual making it as the ignoramus that he is.

  • zulubaby, you’re right. I had an uncle who worked in Soweto for sixty years (doing social work) from 1928 on, and his reports of the situation there were horrifying.

  • Sarah, I know too much already and it’s very difficult to think about. I’m sure what your uncle knew was far worse. Did you read those reports?

For the sake of honesty and clarity, I am not a Zulu. I was just born in that part of South Africa and like the tribe.

I’m also not a baby … most of the time.

  • zulubaby, I’ve read a few of his letters. In the later years of his life he also received some media coverage for his work.

    BTW, do you speak Afrikaans?

  • Ek het Afrikaans as tweede taal gehad op skool, maar Engels is my eerste taal.

So, yes, I do speak Afrikaans. Not well anymore, I suspect. I haven’t lived in SA for a long time so I only really speak Afrikaans to my brothers if we want to have a private conversation in public.

Oh my. I only know 2 individuals in the Jewish blogging world that make that analogy, but I can’t recall off the top of my head who these might be… Hmmm… now might I have been thinking of…

  • Sarah: I don’t doubt for a second that you have that ability on top of everything else…

  • ck, you’re too charming, but let’s just say that some of your thoughts still reverberate from times when they were uttered aloud 😉

I’m off to bed for a few hours; catch ya later.

  • Clearly one has to get up pretty darn early in the morning to try to pull a fast one on you Sarah. Sleep well or uh… Schlafbrunnen.

  • ck, I have no idea what you’re talking about and am not sure I’m expected to.

    Sarah, goeie nag.

  • It’s cool zulubaby. You made some fantastic points which were much appreciated coming from someone who lived under Apartheid and was opposed to it. Thanks for your welcome input to the conversation!

  • ck, I’ve got my methods 😉

BTW, “Brunnen” is one translation of the noun “well”; the adverb translates as “gut”. Anyhopw, toda, I’m back up again.

  • I hope everyone had an easy fast…. Now lets get back to the job of pressuring Bloomberg to Arrest this evil man on arrival….

  • It’s hard for some of you to admit that the Palestinians suffered and suffer a great injustice, as I’m sure it induces a lot of guilt, but facts are facts!

Oh but honey, Israeli law is much worse. There are sooooo many books on Israeli Apartheid, go pick up one and get yourself an education this new year. 🙂

  • I am disgusted at Columbia U. With all their sophistry, they still don’t know the difference between freedom of speech and inciting to riot. The criminals speech’s will be the eternal one of all Jew-haters: kill the Jews. The correct response to inciting to riot is fairly simple: Uzi.

  • Apartheid sez: Oh but honey, Israeli law is much worse. There are sooooo many books on Israeli Apartheid, go pick up one and get yourself an education this new year. 🙂

Since when are Palestinians, Israelis? Do you understand what apartheid is?

And, no guilt here. Palestinians don’t have a sole mandate on suffering. They’re not the only people in the world, believe it or not. I’ve seen far worse suffering in my life — genuine suffering.

  • Zulubaby wrote: “And, no guilt here. Palestinians don’t have a sole mandate on suffering. They’re not the only people in the world, believe it or not. I’ve seen far worse suffering in my life — genuine suffering.”

Ohh, okay. i guess that justifies everything. Yes at least we agree, the victims are now victimizers and its shameful and sad.

  • the victims are now victimizers and its shameful and sad.

Yes, apartheid, the victims of the terrorisi attacks are the ones at fault. The students at the Yeshiva in Chevron in 1929 should have left before the Arab mobs attacked. In fact the Jews should have committed suicide rather than leaving the camps after the second phase of the first World War.

It is all the fault of the Joooos that the Arabs are forced to commit all the murders rather than being able to sit back and have their victims cut their own throats.
