  • I know he’s not Jewish… he isn’t right? But still, he was pretty darn cool. Who of us here didn’t ride their three speed over a ramp whilst trying to emulate him? If you didn’t then you haven’t lived! So long Evel!

  • Oh.. memories of my banana-seat bike…. but may I add, while Mr Knievel was not Jewish, is it any wonder why he chose EVEL as his first name? Is it because he would study the Evel Rabbati, a minor tractate of the Talmud Bavli? Perhaps he was sending a message of needing to fight mourning and wrongs by facing challenges. One who can jump over buses and canyons can also avoid one’s wicked inclinations. Also, in his lifetime, Evel broke 40 bones… 40… as in 40 days and night or rain, 40 years of wandering, 40 days of Joseph’s embalming… need I continue? hehehe (Larry, MyJewishBooks.com)
