Shabbat is the Sabbath. As in, G_d (supposedly) created the world in 6 days and rested on the seventh. This is a picture of a sukkah, which is a booth. Sukkot celebrates the feast of booths.
I was wondering what the historical purpose of a shabbat were? I live near a first nation reserve and have seen something akin to this structure there as well. I would appreciate any “education” u might give me in this area.
