Yes, it’s the festive season in the Jewish world. Hanukkah is coming and the Jews are bustin’ out the candles, the Hanukkah bushes, the Dreidel and Menorah wall hangings, decorative lights and viral videos, in a time honored tradition that has nothing at all to do with the fact that our Christian friends are also similarly and festively celebrating the birth of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in an orgy of pagan lights, tree worship and rampant consumerism. Oh, and good will to all of course. In any case, as the Festival of Lights approaches, the videos are coming fast and furious. Here are a couple more. The first one is from Birthright Israel and features rap music, the conflation of African American culture and Judaism, and all the stuff that the kinderlach, clamoring for free 10-day trips to the holy land, just love. It’s meant to promote Hanukkah Worldwide, a series of Hanukkah parties around the world that will have young Jews bumpin’ booties and assuring the continuity of the Jewish people:

Next is the Pass The Candle video by singer, songwriter Michelle Citrin and Wiliam Levin of Shabot6000 – the master innovators of Jewish viral videos. The video was sponsored in part by ROI120:

Cute, right? It’s a series of videos submitted by a bunch of people around the world where they “pass the candle” from one person to the next in honor of Hanukkah! Sadly, my submission, reproduced below, didn’t make the cut. Oh well…
