Imagine that you’re Jewish and you live in a Jewish state. Imagine that this Jewish state is a democracy where its citizens, Jewish or non-Jewish receive numerous benefits such as a subsidized university education. Now imagine…actually, stop imagining because this is all real…so assume that a particular university in Israel, the Jewish state, holds an event where a fiery, anti-Semitic, Muslim demagogue is invited to speak to the university’s Arab students, but the Jewish students are kept out.
All of that is not as astounding as the fact that the university invited a ma who has said,”We are not those who ate bread dipped in children’s blood.”
Yup, government subsidized anti-Semitism on a campus that has a very significant Arab-Israeli population and has turned out no small number of (Jewish) faculty members whose leanings are strongly to the Left, sometimes being critical enough of Israel that they demand it disband and enable a single state for all.
Northern Islamic Islamic Movement leader, Sheikh Raed Salah, came to visit Haifa U. We don’t know what he said, because it was behind closed doors (at UC Irvine, they prevent people from taping the lectures given by the pro-Palestinian speakers).
“We didn’t invite him, but in the end, for legal reasons, we had to let him in,” said the university in a statement.
The head of the extremist northern branch of the Islamic Movement, which denies Israel’s legitimacy, holds Israeli citizenship.
During Wednesday’s lecture, Salah – who has served a two-year sentence for a series of security offenses, including financing Hamas activities – said that Jerusalem was an “Arab, Muslim and Palestinian issue alone.”

During his sermon in Jerusalem’s Wadi Joz neighborhood on February 16, 2007, Salah urged supporters to start a third intifada in order to “save al-Aksa Mosque, free Jerusalem and end the occupation.”
Salah’s speech also attacked Jews, saying, “They want to build their temple at a time when our blood is on their clothes, on their doorsteps, in their food and in their drinks. Our blood has passed from one ‘general terrorist’ to another ‘general terrorist.'” He also said, “We are not those who ate bread dipped in children’s blood.”
I understand free speech but this man is inciting, so why would he get permission not only to speak but to speak to a select group of students while others are prevented from attending because of their faith?
1. This man should be behind bars for far longer than 2 years. This is not a a free speech issue – he continues to call for murder.
2. Why were they legally bound to let him in? I don’t think they’re legally bound to let me in…
3. The universities in Israel (save Bar Ilan), especially the humanities departments, are EXTREMELY left wing. Beyond the spectrum, really. Many, many professors are explicitly anti-Israel. Remember, this is the university that up until not too long ago, employed a certain Ilan Pappe as a professor…
Thanks to Rep. Chuck DeVore, UCI now permits all public events filmed and recorded. They had no choice because he is a sitting Rep. in California and was thrown out of a meeting for taping!
Yes, it is good to remember that Ilan Pappe gets to be called “prof” thanks to Haifa U.
They now get to reap what they sowed.
Where one finds Ilan Pappe, Micah Leshem, Yuval Yonay, Avraham Oz, Vered Kraus, Tamar Katriel, Deborah Bernstein, Ramzi Suleiman, and dozens of other traitors, one cannot be surprised to find entrenched “academic” treason and anti-Semitism.
