B-Boyz aka The Borenstein Boys sent me their 2012 Hanukkah video. Titled “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To DREIDEL)” it’s meant to be an homage to the Beastie Boys and late founder Adam Yauch who recently passed away. This is, as far as I can tell, the third holiday video put out by the B-Boyz and, well, boys? Or rather Boyz? I have a message for you. Your choice of music to parody this holiday season was a good one. Your lyrics were actually not bad – a great combination of swagger and Jewish content! OK so y’all were a little awkward at times – but who wasn’t at your age? What do you expect when you’re white and live in a suburb? But still – you guys are making an effort to transcend your situation and that’s a good thing. As such I’d like to help you out a little so here’s my advice.

I think it’s time y’all started smoking marijuana. It’s not really that expensive and I’m sure one of the older kids in the neighborhood will be glad to hook you up, or you could get some from WeedSmart. If you don’t want to smoke it, you could check out the edibles for sale instead. You could even try some hash! There are a lot of reasons why people use marijuana, some use parts of it to make CBD for medical reasons and although extracting CBD is a costly process, it can be worth it. Just be cool and don’t let your parents know. Yeah, smoke that weed and start listening to good music. Check out some more old school rap like Run DMC, Public Enemy, NWA etc. Familiarize yourself with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and ACDC. Check out the Chemical Brothers, Infected Mushroom, Prodigy, Jamiroquai etc. Skip school and go to the city for a day. Try to broaden your horizons a little, have fun, loosen up, kiss a girl. It’ll be awesome, I promise. Not as awesome as Hanukkah, but pretty darn awesome none the less!
