Mel Gibson: My Jew Movie

Judah Braveheart Maccabee? Couldn't resist. Sorry.

Looks like Mel Gibson is going to be teaming up with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas (Basic Instinct, Showgirls, Betrayed, Music Box) to produce a movie about Judah Maccabee.

I know. Weird, right? And on so many levels. Many felt that Gibson’s 2004 film The Passion of the Christ depicted Jews in a negative manner (Hellooo, christ killer, hello!). In 2006, after Gibson was pulled over for drunk driving, he said to the arresting officer “Fucking Jews… the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” Gibson is also a Traditionalist Catholic who reject the reforms of Vatican II and his father is a conspiracy theorist and Holocaust denier. And yet… he’s been working on this movie about a man who is arguably the most celebrated Jewish hero ever. Well, at least judging by Hanukah standards. Others see Judah Maccabee, who defeated the Greek-Syrian armies in the 2nd Century BCE, as a kind of blood thirsty Jewish fundamentalist.

But whatever, I have no idea what Gibson is thinking. Might this be an attempt to regain favor with the Jews in Hollywood? His last film, Jodie Foster’s Beaver, was a total financial failure. Maybe a Jewish Braveheart might not be such a bad idea after all? But will the Jews ever forgive him? I guess we’ll see.

UPDATE: Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic has a uhm… fascinating conversation with Mel Brooks about the Judah Maccabee project. And circumcision…

Gibson is the type of sick bastard who would appreciate a total psycho like Judah Maccabee.

Should be a great shecht ’em film, though. I’m seeing it in the theater.

You only think Judah Maccabee was a total psycho because you would have been one of those Hellenists ratting out your fellow Jews for studying Torah and getting circumcisions. He would have had your severed head on a pike for being a collaborator. Desperate times call for desperate measures Duvidle. Chanukah Hu Chag Tov!

    😉

In any case, Mel Gibson doesn’t have the moral fortitude of Judah Maccabee. Sure he can talk the talk, but he’s divorced and has a 2 year old kid out of wedlock. Judah Maccabee would have his head on a pike too!

“He would have had your severed head on a pike for being a collaborator. ”

Oh, please. Anyone who disagreed with him was deemed “a collaborator” and was killed. That’s what Middle East strongmen do when they revolt against the liberalism of the west.

Gibson would have done fine under his regime, because polygamy and concubines were the standard of the day. It’s probably part of the reason the Maccabees invaded neighboring peaceful tribes — to capture their women.

Oh, sorry, I mean part of the reason that the Maccabees LIBERATED neighboring tribes. My bad.

    Haha, good exchange!

Now to more a more serious issue: this is a victory for this fucking anti-Semite who actually gets to depict a Jewish hero after his disgusting Jesus movie, the disgusting media campaign he ran to promote that movie and his disgusting dunken anti-Jewish tirades. It’s despicable that he’s being given the reigns over this project and the studio behind it is causing great offense by doing this. If this moves forward, expect to see another disgusting anti-Jewish media campaign as a run up to the film’s distribution.

Its pathetic that he has to try to pretend and hide his true feelings just to look better towards the jewish run media. He should not have to prove himself to anyone.

Stop moaning Mason, the only thing Mel has to prove is his own manhood…to himself. Not sure how he’s gonna do it, maybe get a rabbi to perform a circumcision in order to give the movie a more authentic feel. Either way lets stop being counterproductive and figure out how we will respond to the Turks when they try and humiliate the most productive AND by-far the holiest country in the world. Let’s pull a Judah Maccabee surprise flanking attack on their asses. Just hope their tryptophan don’t put us to sleep before Erdogan unleashes his tumult. Those glibbering faggots are going to burn in hell. (No offense). But seriously fuck Erdofag

I say that if he wants to do good for the Jews, why not. It’s time of Teshova.

It’s nice to have you joining us TM, except for one small detail, which is that there have been times I’ve posted as TM and I’m often referred to as TM on this site. If I may, permit me to suggest adding or modifying your moniker so that I don’t end up thinking I wrote what you wrote. Trust me, if I’m getting confused, the extremely busy ck is gonna think he’s losing his mind

The Jews [Israelites) are the Children of the slave trade. The imposters (Jewish) are descedants of the Edomites and Khazars. The Children of slavery must be the greatest race on the earth since the heathens have try to steal our identity and making movies of our great history.

How do Americans deal with hypocrisy today?

You might live in a warm place and own a new car listening to good music with an excellent stereo after you ate a delicious dinner and feel pretty good about living in a free country, but how does being tracked and wiretapped 24/7 feel?

Americans may feel like they are good people even when they commit three felonies a day just by existing.

How do Americans justify paying taxes when their taxes fund rising debt, Obamacare, food stamps, regulations, US wars, illegal immigrants, nanny state laws, security cameras, license plate readers, checkpoints, redlight cameras, speed cameras, FBI facial and voice recognition, curfews, gun bans, NSA wiretapping, the end to the right to silence, free speech bans, searches without warrants, private prisons, mandatory minimums, 3 strikes laws, DNA databases, CISPA, SOPA, NDAA, IMBRA, private prison quotas, no knock raids, take down notices, no fly lists, terror watch lists, Constitution free zones, stop and frisk, 3 strikes laws, kill switches, National Security Letters, DNA databases, kill lists, FBAR, FATCA, Operation Chokepoint, TSA groping, civil forfeiture, CIA torture, NDAA indefinite detention, secret FISA courts, FEMA camps, laws requiring passports for domestic travel, IRS laws denying passports for tax debts, gun and ammo stockpiles, laws outlawing protesting, police militarization, chain gangs, boot camps, and Jade Helm?

Americans might feel like they live in a moral country, but how can a nation that tortures and launches endless wars take the moral high ground on anything?

How could Americans not feel responsible for US wars, debt, and tyranny?

How would the founding fathers think about the collapse of the USA?

The American default reaction to hard facts seems to be to not think and to silence those who speak the truth, but facts don’t cease to exist because they are ignored.

Future generations will ask why Americans didn’t resist when the US became a police state.

One thing worse than learning that you live in a police state is finding out that no one cares.

The only realistic option left for a moral American seems to be to renounce your citizenship.
