The Fools of Prophecy (Shotey Ha’Nevua) are one of Israel’s hottest and ecclectic bands combining a whacky mix of Hip-Hop, Reggae, Rap and Funk. They will be performing in New York on the following dates at the following venues:
August 8th – 7:30 pm ‘Meet the artists’ reception, 9:30pm Performance. The Knitting Factory, 74 Leonard Street. For tickets and information: 212-219-3132, http://www.knittingfactory.com/kfny
August 15th – Staten Island Yankees Stadium, 75 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY (as part of Jewish Heritage Night). For exact time and information: 212.719.9020. Tickets: 718-720-9265, http://siyanks.com
The Fools’ tour is sponsored by Israel at Heart, you know, those dudes that brought us The Ambassador. Rumour has it that Ambassador Eytan Schwartz will be attending both shows, but, sadly for the ladies in the hizouse, he will be escorted by his lovely girlfriend. Sorry. But seriously, these guys are big fun. Check out the video on their Web site.
The Fools of Prophecy will be back in November on a North American Campus Tour too, so look out for that as well.

It’s a great band. Too bad they don’t play together anymore (at least that’s what I’ve heard). I would love to see them live, in Norway or Israel.
shotei hanevu’a are absolutely sensational and even better live! you think iowa is far, try australia!
Woowoo. Awesome! So Josh – wanna give away a couple of tickets to Jewlicious readers? Say hi to the Chambres!
I run the Staten Island Yankees, and I am also a huge fan of Shotey Hanevu’a. We can’t wait to host them on Monday. I was at the Knitting Factory show, and when I walked in (after our game was over), they were in the middle of Ein Ani, and the place was going crazy. We’d love to see everyone out on Monday. If you have any questions, you can certainly call or email me at the Staten Island Yankees. http://www.siyanks.com, or 718-720-9265 x 217. Thanks and see you Monday!

SHOTEY HANEVU’A ROCK!!!!
this is craaaaaazzzzyyyy!!!!
They are really a great band, the only one I am very familiar with here in Israel.
Seeing them at the Knitting Factory would be interesting. Too bad it’s the 9 days. … As far as getting people in the City to go to Staten Island, the show might as well be in Iowa.
I bought their album in Tel Aviv – good band – too bad New York is so far away from Iowa.
