coming eventsWell, let’s just say it’s Jew-ish… You may have noticed the new tab up above. It’s a link to a page on our site with Jewish events listings. All kinds of events – events we think you should go to, events we think are noteworthy, events we think are completely idiotic, you name it! Oh and there’s also the Torah portion of the week and Jewish holidays. Speaking of Jewish holidays, this Wednesday in Jerusalem, Rosh Hashana starts at 6:13 pm! How freaky is that? Why? Because there are 613 Mitzvahs in the Torah. Freaaaaky!

Anyways, check out the calendar for all kinds of fun and interesting events. Like I mentioned, this week is Rosh Hashana but before the New Year, you can go see Michelle Citrin perform at Union Square in New York on Tuesday. Or you can contemplate the Six Points Fellowship sponsored Rosh Hashana after party in New York, if you’re into that kind of thing. If you’re in LA, you must check out missFlag on the 17th of September on KCRW in the morning and at the Knitting Factory later that evening. Spending Sukkot in Sicily? Well then you don’t want to miss the International cous cous festival! How about the Balkan Beat Box in San Francisco, Denver and Cleveland? Or Golem in Chicago? These events and more, updated constantly, on the Jewlicious Events Calendar.

Use the contact form to submit other noteworthy events! Did you know that in Israel we only celebrate one Yom Tov? Thus we only have one seder for instance. This applies to all holidays except for Rosh Hashana where even in Israel we celebrate two days. So yes, eve here Friday day is a holiday. Neat huh?
