This dude is MY Hebrew Hammer
Salita is the undefeated junior welterweight boxing champion. Originally from Odessa, Ukraine he now lives in New York and is an Orthodox Jew who will not fight on the Sabbath or on Jewish holidays. Salita said, “I will never compromise my beliefs. Never. It’s not a question. I have a personal relationship with God that I won’t compromise. My boxing is such a big part of my life, but it won’t get in the way of my religion. It can’t, and it won’t.†Nice.
Orthodox Stance is a documentary of Salita’s career to date and his life as an Orthodox Jew. It begins its exclusive NYC theatrical engagement at the Cinema Village on January 25th. Go check it out or else we’ll send some Ukrainian goons over to your house to rough you up!
No, no. I was kidding. Go see it because it has an 8.7 rating on IMDB which usually means it’s a really good film.

Ha! I hadn’t noticed that! I don’t think the timing of the premier was dictated by anything other than the theater’s usual commercial scheduling. Also, the first show is at 1:30 pm – not convenient but still not shabbat.
Anyone else think it’s absurd that the premiere is on a Friday night?
Great, thanks for showing us!
