It’s one of those cold, rainy autumn days. It’s exactly one of those days that I’ve decided I’ve got nothing to wear. At least nothing I currently want to wear (I’m dressed, don’t worry). And possibly nothing I will want to wear tomorrow (don’t worry there either; odds are I’ll still be dressed to work). And did I mention that favourite pieces never ever match with anything else available during the five following seasons? Of course, one could match things the way certain stylists do, but then you might look just as dorky as the next-door celeb that tries to pull off a fake 1980s’ T-shirt (the ’80s’ were way worse fashionwise; trust me) paired with latex or leather leggings, a fake fur-waistcoat and strappy sandals. Yes. It gets that dorky. (Again, trust me; I’m synaesthetic.) Styles like those tells us touching stories of human misery, e.g. “After waking up this morning, I discovered burglars had broken into my home and taken almost all my clothes with them. All they left me with is what I’m wearing now, so please understand that that is the only reason why I look like a neolithic alley cat.”
Still, there is reason to be optimistic for all of those that enjoy cladding themselves in fashion that won’t make them look as if they charged per hour, yet will leave sufficient room for creativity: my today’s internet discovery is Style Shake, a website that offers customized to-your-wishes silk and cotton dresses, skirts and tops. At Style Shake, you can virtually design the dress of your dreams by picking the cloth in various colours, the cuts of the tops, bottoms, necklines and sleeves and even adding trimmings if desired. You can opt for monochromatic looks or let your [colour] fancy run riot.
Why am I blogging this on Jewlicious? The founder and CEO of Style Shake is a lady called Iris Ben David. That’s why.
Neat! 😀
Very nice.
