Pictured above (from left to right, clockwise) are Jen, who just graduated from Hebrew University with an MA in Religious Studies and Assaf, the drummer for Israeli indie band missFlag. Then we have Hadass from the Shalem Center and Jen exploring each others hair. Jen isn’t Jewish and was in awe of Hadass’s hair, described in the course of the evening as “Semitic locks – a light unto the nations, in hair format.” Hadass for her part enjoyed Jen’s native Louisianian coiffe. Next is Israel Broadcast Authority correspondent Leah Stern and ck. We were all enjoying ourselves at the Colony, one of Jerusalem’s swank, happening, (peeka) bars in the area by the old train station off Derech Beth Lechem. It was nice to be in the company of intelligent, interesting and accomplished individuals and while the manifestations of said intelligence wore off as the night progressed and the booze tab grew, that’s kind of the point, isn’t it? Who needs Tel Aviv! The Colony was awesome, with nary a frosty tipped hair guy, euro-trash wannabe or dazed looking hippie in sight.
Assaf, whose band played at the Jewlicious Festival last March, and Leah (who has also just started blogging for Jewlicious) are also going to be participants at the upcoming ROI120 conference on July 2nd in Jerusalem. If last night is any indication, it’s going to be a fun and uh… edifying experience.

Unrelated, but I did just come across this video from Memri that is very interesting.
An Arab women has come on and made some excellent points, and at the end of it, praises the Jews in many ways. And yes, this is straight from Al Jezeera.
