The first time Megan Phelps Roper and I interacted was just before Yom Kippur in 2009. In a now famous tweet she spoke about Judaism’s “dead rote rituals” and chided me for “promoting sins.” I told her that her ministry was a joke. And thus began a wonderful friendship which culminated today with the release of Megan’s new, already critically acclaimed book “Unfollow.” The book, which is set to be turned into a major motion picture, details her journey from true believer to enlightened advocate. I just got my hands on the book and I totally understand the rave reviews that its gotten – I read it in one sitting. Despite the fact that I was pretty familiar with the story, I was nonetheless enthralled. I guess I should probably write a detailed review but, like, can I if I am actually in the book? I’ll try and figure it out over Yom Kippur which begins REALLY soon.

The attached video is from a segment on the release of Unfollow which was covered by Good Morning America. If this is the first you’ve heard of this awesome story, the video will clue you in. Oh and buy Unfollow today! Have a meaningful fast all y’all!
