Everyone knows Salvador Dali was a rad* artist. Not everyone knows that in 1968 he published a suite of 25 lithographs entitled ‘Aliyah,’ published by the Shorewood Press of New York commemorating the 20th anniversary of the founding of Israel. The original portfolio came with a text by Columbia University history professor, Gerson D. Cohen, and an introduction by none other than David Ben Gurion. If you’re in Los Angeles you can see the entire set at the University of Judaism, but if you’re not there, you can take a look at the entire work over 3 pages of images here.
* – I’m originally from the San Fernando Valley, hence the colloquialism.

Speaking of fascists – Dali even worked with Disney! Check it
Dali didn’t care where he got the money from, even if it was from Franco and his fascists.
his name was Salvador Dali, not Salvadore, his wife and muse, Gala, was a jewish russian girl,Dali’s father never accepted her and Dali left his family home forever. Gala’s life was really intersting and her Dali-Gala love story is legendary

Good to see Dali did a bit of Isreal celebrating in between selling chocolate, painting General Franco’s daughter and drawing adults having sex with children. The question is did Dali get paid to paint these works for money? I think this means we might have to start drawing a line somewhere.
