Why I never use my DISCOVER card, and I just want to send them some love. No really. Why in the world would they go through the trouble of telling me that they have lowered it to 23.995 – I mean do they really think I am going to borrow money at that rate? I actually haven’t touched the card in MONTHS because it has been at 29.99%. I carry ZERO balance there and a whopping $5600 line of credit. They send me incessantly these little cute checks that look like free money. They have orange borders, and my name, wow soo cool. All i do is just go and use them, it says. And then in little letters is says: “We will remove your kidney for using these, and then take other organs as needed.”

Dear Yonah B Bookstein:

We’re pleased to tell you we’ve lowered your Standard Purchase APR to 23.99%. Please look for this change on your next billing statement.

Due to your payment history over the past few months, we’re happy to extend this reduced rate to you earlier than what is stated in the Default Rate Plan section of your Cardmember Agreement.

We’re glad you’re our Cardmember and we want to make sure you have the most rewarding relationship possible with us. If there is anything else we can do to help, please let us know. Experienced Account Managers are available to assist you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whenever you call 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683), or you can always visit us at Discover.com. You can also contact a customer service representative by sending a secure message through our website.

Sincerely,

Discover Card Customer Service

Notice they even put Sincerely! Nice touch LOL

  • CashCall was running one of their ads (though sadly without Gary Coleman) the other day. It said something about the ability to borrow thousands of dollars on “just your signature.” Maybe they also said no credit check. From what I could see of the fine print, the interest rate was 99.25%. What I could not see was if that was monthly or yearly. I would not be surprised if it was monthly.
