The killer of three French soldiers, a Rabbi and three Jewish schoolchildren was himself killed today after resisting arrest at the end of a 32 hour siege. Details are still emerging but Mohammed Merah, who admitted to negotiators that he had committed the murders, declared that he planned on dying with his guns blazing. Looks like he got his final wish. The police stormed his apartment and came face to face with the gunman. Three police were shot and injured and Merah tried jumped out the bathroom window. At some point immediately after that he died, presumably from gunshot wounds.
Merah’s Jewish victims were buried in Jerusalem yesterday.
