The Wall Street Journal and several Jewish sites led with the photo above by Emil Salman. It shows the two men about to hug, but the Israeli PM looking to the audience.
The Washington Post opted for a pic of Carter hanging with the IDF
This is followed be below by Haaretz which went with the Associated Press and used photo taken by the U.S. Embassy picture: In that picture below, Ashton Carter is met by Charge D’affaires William Grant, Defense Ministry Director General Dan Harel, IDF Attaché to the U.S. Yaacov Ayish and U.S. Defense Attaché to Israel General John Shapland.
Under that pic is the one that Bloomberg ran. It makes the two men dance.
The Guardian led with a friendly pic from the Associated Press:
And The New York Times focused on a friendly military cooperation pic. The New York Times also chose to show a Reuters video from which the main single “cold shoulder” pic was taken. It tells a slightly different story, but is cold nonetheless.
