Jewish Students Attacked in Auschwitz

The Jerusalem Post reports that a group of 50 Jewish students touring Auschwitz were verbally attacked by a group of French male tourists. The Frenchmen seem to have been incited by the presence of an Israeli flag worn on the shoulders of one of the Jewish students. Swearing and hurling anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli insults, one of the assailants told the students “to go back to Israel and said that we were stupid and should be ashamed to walk around with an Israeli flag.”

Laurence Weinbaum, the resident scholar of the group stated that “Violence was narrowly averted … But, if the two sides hadn’t been separated, it would have come to blows.” Added Weinbaum “This was another reminder that in Western Europe there is sympathy for dead Jews; it’s just the live ones that they cannot tolerate.”

JEWLICIOUS TIP #1:
Just for the record, next time anyone is accosted by potentially violent Frenchmen, simply throw a uniform on them. Or speak German. Problem solved.
