When I was a child, I went to a taping of ‘Small Wonder’, the show with that robot chick who always wore the same red and white outfit. It was exciting stuff for a 9 year old. Even more exciting was that after the show Tiffany Brissette, the actress that played Vicki, signed an 8 X 10 glossy for me. She signed the picture “God Bless, Tiffany Brissette” in big pre-teen handwriting. I don’t know why, but I felt confused and uncomfortable that she had to bring the big guy into it. She was keeping it kosher here for Joyce, but as a highly sensitive child I even got upset when my mother wore Christian Dior earings. In anycase, I can smooth over my childhood neurosis now with my very own certified-Jewish robot.
