Last Monday, Michelle and Ron Gompertz, creators of chrismukkah.com were scheduled to be interviewed on the Fox News morning show about the site and the new holiday of Chrismukkah. Behind ABC and CBS and NBC, Fox is the station with the third fourth highest viewership in North America, and free publicity from them is worth millions. No wonder Michelle and Ron agreed to drive 150 miles to Butte, Montana for what was likely to be a two-minute interview.
The engineers set everything up, ran some tests, did the sound check and … nothing.
Turned out, just as we were about to go live, a heavy downpour in New York City messed with the satellite signal quality and the top dogs at FOX Network pulled the plug on me like Wolf Blitzer in Bagdad. Instead of doing my Chrismukkah interview, they broadcast a “puppies for Christmas” back-up story. Michelle and I drove back home, frustrated and dejected. Hey, that’s show biz.
That’s showbiz? Can you say “that’s divine intervention,” little boys and girls?! Heh. Sorry Michelle and Ron. Couldn’t have happenned to a stupider Web site.

Just a point of order…
Reread your facts. Fox is the FOURTH most popular netowrk, after NBC as well. Furthermore, that’s the ratings for Fox, not the Fox News Network.
Not to say, of course, that it wasn’t Yad Hashem! I’m just a detail monger! 😉
Chag sameach!
Fun Joel
Duly noted and corrected.
Still, that is pretty awesome!!!!
Wow, the overthrow of Chrismukkah is working… I didn’t know that G-d was on my side when I said, “Down with Chrismukkah!”
Ahem,
Mother nature…
