The IDF soldiers carry on their shoulders the responsibility of the safety and security of the State of Israel. Sometimes, Diaspora individuals feel like they want to do something to support the IDF, and now JerusalemOnline.com and Israel-Catalog.com are launching an initiative designed to “lighten the IDF soldiers’ holidays by sending them gift packages of chocolates and sweets, donated by the Jewish Diaspora.”

JerusalemOnline.com and Israel-Catalog.com are collecting sponsorships for these gifts for IDF soldiers, and the packages will be distributed by volunteers of the “LIBI” fund at army bases all over Israel. All packages are under Kashrut supervision of the Israel Rabbinate.

“Israel soldiers give the best years of their lives to defend Israel”, said Ohad Rosen, marketing director of JerusalemOnline.com and retired First Lieutenant of the IDF. “This is our way to show them our support and care”.

JerusalemOnline.com was founded in 2005 by Itai Green and Doron Landau, with a vision of strengthening the relationship between Israel and English speakers and to improve the image of Israel around the world. By providing short, concise daily news from Israel every day and broadcasting it for free on its website, it’s aiming to bridge the gap between Israel and foreign media.

  • From what my sons (front-line IDF veterans) have told me, the food packages are shared by all. I don’t know much about the deal you posted about, but consider that when you’re sending to one soldier, the who unit will enjoy it!
