Well, in my real life where I have another name, big changes are taking place over the next few days. In a hospital in Israel, Ariel Sharon is struggling to find his way back to cognition while politicians struggle to reinvent the political landscape. In Moscow, a number of Jews struggle for their lives in a hospital, victims to an age-old hatred and blood libel of Jews. In kitchens around the world, a special meal is being prepared for the shabbat meal. Rabbis everywhere are going over their notes for tonight or tomorrow’s dvar torah or talks with their congregations. Pimply boys and awkward girls – okay, I’m kidding, you are all beautiful teenagers – are doing a last practice run before they have the bar/bat mitzvahs tomorrow. Shabbat is descending upon Jerusalem and Israel, making its way around the world and will be here with us in North America in a few hours.
Shabbat shalom.
I remember as a little kid visiting the Kotel with my family. I started pulling out all of the notes, thinking that people were tucking away their trash in the wall… Oy! 😉
I spent this past shabbat in Jerusalem and it was wonderful.
“Ummmn, Shtremiel, when is the last time you saw one of those?”
In ’84…I went to a Warrant concert at the Roxy in LA, and this Heavy Metal chick jumped on stage, and lifted up her skirt. Yeah, yeah, that’s when.
There is a spot in the wall with that much room for notes? Is that really the Kotel?
Shtreimel,
What Muffti said.
Shabbat shalom
Ummmn, Shtremiel, when is the last time you saw one of those?
Ok, this is going to sound really, really bad…but when I refreshed your page, and saw this image, I thought it was a full on vag…vulv…
Baruch Ha’Shem.
Shabbat is very welcome this week, as every week.
Thank you for the thoughtful introduction; it made me start feeling better already.
Shabbat shalom.
