Even as a professional self-promoter, I hate self-promoting. Â Nobody wants to feel like they’re self-promoting. Â But since David/CK/Mr. Jewlicious has encouraged and allowed me to to spread some Jewlicious love, I’ll say a few words.
Hey, kids!  Have you heard that Israel is funny?  East meets West, old meets new, menus meet horribly ridiculous English misspellings?   In a land where modernity and innovation meet religion and history, anything can and does happen.  Hearing a Russian and a South American in your Ulpan (Hebrew class) trying to communicate in English? Amusing. Seeing the audacious (and often inappropriate) English t-shirts that Israelis walk around in? Hilarious!  Renting “Pulp Fiction” to see how they translate “bring in the gimp”? PRICELESS.  And if you know anything about the news, you’d better have a sense of humor.
All of this said, can I interest you in a stand-up comedy show? Â When I’m not living in Israel making audiences like Birthright groups laugh, you can occasionally see me performing across the US for Birthright alums, Hillel groups, Jewish Federations, and more. Â In honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israeli Independence Day, I’ll be in the States in mid- to late-April doing shows and would love to come to your communities. Â So far, I’ll be at a gala at Camp Young Judaea-Texas the weekend of April 20th, in the East Bay of California on the 25th, and in Baltimore on the 29th.
What better reason to laugh than to celebrate this awesome country turning sixty-four? Â If you’re interested in arranging a hilarious comedy show to both entertain and educate, don’t hesitate to contact me through my site. Â And if it doesn’t work out on this trip, hey, you can always come to a show in Israel. Â (Like you need an excuse to visit.)
