So you’re an American Jew working together with another American Jew. Together, you launch a website offering students a chance to really, truly, definitively be rebellious. You call the site Schoolsucks.com and you proceed to make it a central repository for oodles and kaboodles of student papers on every topic imaginable.
Useful? You betcha! For example, you’re one of CK’s office hotties, but still in university and late on your Homoeroticism in King David’s Court paper? Go to schoolsucks.com and pick up some other student’s pulitzer prize-winning work on the same topic. Don’t want to plagiarize? Use the bibliography and work backwards from there. the Internet is amazing.
The site was founded by Kenny Sahr and Yasha Harari in 1996. 1996, for those who don’t recall, was still prehistory in terms of the dot com craze. Apparently the site became an immediate hit and has maintained its popularity – it’s visited by 300,000 students a month (CK, are we closing in on those numbers at Jewlicious? 😆 ).
So what do Kenny and Yasha do these days? They lounge on the beach in Tel Aviv, giving interviews to Jewlicious Haaretz reporters. Read it and weep. Or kvell. Or go steal a paper.
