11 cyclists, 1 photographer and a driver arrived at the Jaffa Gate to the Old City of Jerusalem today, having biked from Venice…for peace. These buff Italians brave cyclists participating in the Bridges of Peace initiative rode through Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Syria and Jordan to Israel, where they will spend the next three days in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. After travelling 3,800 km they have, presumably, discovered the answer to peace in the Middle East and we’ll all be ’round a bonfire singing Kumbaya in no time.
