Tired of being treated like a virtual punching bag by sophisticated hackers and juvenile script kiddies alike, the government of Iran has decided to remove its key ministries and state bodies from the Internet next month. Iranian Minister of Communication and Information Technology Reza Taqipour declared that the Internet was “untrustworthy.” Taqipour was probably pissed off when he found out that those hardcore nudie pics of Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson that he downloaded of the Web weren’t real. Oh and also that whole infiltrating Iran’s most secret and sophisticated computers and messing up their nuclear program thing didn’t help either. But have no fear! Iranian civil servants will be able to continue trading porn and pictures of LOL Cats on their new intranet, a local network that isn’t connected at all to the larger Internet. Udi and Ran, the guys that came in with the lowest bid, expect to have the new Iranian intranet up and running within a month.
